A Media Wall is a custom-built feature designed to seamlessly integrate your audio, video, gaming, and other media equipment into your home. It not only conceals cables and devices when needed, but also enhances your space with a clean, stylish finish that feels like it has always belonged.

Whether you prefer a sleek, minimal design or a bold statement feature, every Media Wall we create is bespoke—tailored to reflect your vision and lifestyle. Our designs typically fall into two categories: Chimney Breast Media Walls or Shelving and Storage Media Walls, each offering a unique balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Chimney Breast Media Walls

A Chimney Breast Media Wall is typically built slightly wider than your TV, creating a balanced and elegant focal point. It can be enhanced with features such as an electric fire, a sound bar, and smart backlighting behind the TV. The structure naturally provides the ideal cavity for discreetly running cables, ensuring a sleek, clutter-free finish.

While simpler than our larger bespoke Media Walls, Chimney Breast designs still offer endless opportunities for personalisation. From fire installation options and mantel styles to paint colours and unique finishes, every detail can be tailored to your taste. At Home Cinema Interiors, we’ll work closely with you—having as many design discussions as needed—to ensure you’re completely confident and excited about your wall before we begin.

Our Media Wall designs are entirely bespoke, crafted around each client’s individual needs and preferences. Shelving and Storage Media Walls

Shelving and Storage Media Walls typically begin at around three metres wide but can be designed to span the full length of your available wall space.

Shelving can take many forms—built-in cubes, floating shelves, or glass shelves—and larger Media Walls often feature alcoves that are perfect for showcasing shelving, log stores, pendant lights, artwork, and more. We’ve even incorporated external windows into some of our designs. Built-in cube shelving is particularly popular, as it allows for the installation of downlights, enabling each section to be illuminated with smart bulbs—giving you complete control over brightness and colour at the touch of a button.

Storage is a highly requested feature, with drawers and cupboards seamlessly integrated into our Media Walls to provide practical solutions for keeping everyday living room essentials close at hand but neatly out of sight.

The larger scale of these Media Walls also opens the door for a wide range of interior design finishes, from slat panelling, wood or stone worktops, and tiling or brick effects, to custom paintwork, mirrors, and more.

Our Bespoke Feature Walls offer a contemporary take on the traditional Media Wall, creating a stylish focal point without the need for a full stud-built construction. Built around high-quality TV mounting solutions, our Feature Walls can incorporate floating TV units, feature TV boards, decorative wall panelling, slatted timber panels, electric fires, shelving and ambient LED lighting. Every design is tailored to suit your home, allowing you to create a space that feels both practical and beautifully considered.

Just like our larger Media Wall installations, cable management is an essential part of every project. Our Media Walls installations include...

Building of the structure
The Media Wall begins with a wooden frame. A bespoke build depending on the size and features of the Media Wall.
Installation of concealed cabling
The cable and electrical installation and management begins at this stage. Media Walls create the perfect cavities and space for concealed cables.
Boarding and plastering
The Media Wall is then boarded and plastered. At this point it begins to seamlessly become part of the room.
Painting
We can match the paint on your Media Wall to the rest of the room, or alternatively paint the whole room.
Lighting
We offer a range of lighting options including back lit screens, ceiling lighting and shelving lighting - all can be incorporated into your Media Wall. We also specialise in smart lighting systems.
Shelving
As each Media Wall design is bespoke, we can incorporate surrounding shelves, cupboards and drawers depending on your needs and how you imagine the finished look.
Sound bar installation/ceiling mounted speakers
Sound bars and speakers are an important part of any AV installation, and quality sound is an integral part of our Media Walls.
Inset electric fire installation
You don’t need to choose between TV or fireplace to anchor your living rooms. Beautiful inset electric fireplaces can really bring the wow factor.

How do I get a Media Wall quote?

If you have a design in mind, we can give you an indication on price over email or the phone. For an accurate quote, we would arrange no-obligation home consultation visit from business owner, Josh, to discuss and establish the details of your Media Wall ideas.

What is the lead time for starting a new Media Wall?

This can vary at different times of the year, but generally speaking our diary is booked an average of 6 weeks ahead of time.

How long does a Media Wall take to build?

Our Media Walls take approximately 8 days from start to finish, this includes a 3 day plaster drying time, in which no work takes place. The Media Walls are finished to completion, all electrics, paint, skirting, TV and other AV installations and ready to enjoy!

Does a Media Wall need to have an electric fire?

No. Media Walls can be designed with or without an electric fire.

Do you have to buy a new TV or other AV equipment?

No. Many of our clients have decided they are ready for a new TV when enquiring about Media Walls and we can source AV equipment for you, if required. It is also common for clients to already have the TV they wish to incorporate in their Media Wall.

Can I have a Media Wall in any type of property?

Yes. The Media Wall is built in front of the existing wall and the plaster finish blends it seamlessly into the room, as though it has always been there. This means that it can be incorporated into any room, no matter the type of wall. We have often used Media Walls to cover issues and unsightly elements of a room, like wonky walls, downpipes and other features that are ideally out of sight.

We have also built Media Walls in flat, several floors up!

Does the Media Wall have to be built on the wall that currently has sockets and cabling?

No. If you would like to have your Media Wall in a position that is currently not serviced by all of the cabling and electrics needed, we can relocate cabling. We are able to relocate electrics, aerial and internet. We can install new sockets in areas of the room that do not currently have them.

Where are your devices located in Media Walls?

Equipment such as Sky Boxes, DVD players are most commonly mounted behind the TV for easy access on the pull out brackets. We can also offer alternatives by locating them in storage base cupboards or elsewhere in the room.

They are a premium service delivering a premium product. I was very particular with my design, but Josh’s team handled it all in their stride, ensuring I was happy with every single detail.
They even managed to squeeze me in ahead of schedule. Then, when I added some last minute changes to the design that increased the installation time - they stayed late each day to ensure the job was done in one go. They were a pleasure to work with. Upon seeing a friends 2 TV and sound equipment installations, I wished to move an existing TV set up and add a self purchased soundbar. We recently used this company for a full refresh of our lounge interior, including ceiling replastering, full redecoration, and the resanding and refinishing of an original wooden floor — and the results have been excellent.

From the outset, the team were professional, punctual, and easy to deal with. They communicated clearly, turned up on time each day, and worked efficiently throughout. Just as importantly, they kept everything clean and tidy, which made a real difference during the process.

From our initial enquiry with Kelly and Charlotte in the wonderful Home Cinema Interior Basingstoke showroom to completion of our media wall the overall customer service and work has been 10/10. Nothing was any trouble for Charlotte in the office throughout the planning process. The wealth of knowledge Charlotte and the installation team have is impressive and to see the media wall I have been wanting come to life after a lot of decision making was special. We love it!!

We loved this place. Josh and his team were fantastic from start to finish. They were patient & helpful with us through the design process as we iterated from a rough concept to a design we loved. We started at just a fire & TV surround but ended up getting a some new flooring and some decorating at very reasonable prices. The installation team came soon after we had signed the deal and were really professional and courteous at our home. The finished product is fantastic, and we really appreciated their attention to detail and Josh’s willingness to listen and tweak things as needed. We were so pleased with our media wall (reviewed earlier) we invited Josh and his fabulous team back to update our study. They installed woodup panels to one wall and lowered the ceiling installing colour changing automated lighting with full decoration (see photos). We then went on to ask Josh to also install woodup panels in our master bedroom which we are thrilled with. Three great projects all completed to a high standard with attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Utterly professional service from beginning to end. Josh and his whole team were outstanding and we are delighted with our new media wall which has exceeded our expectations. Utter professionalism. Josh, Chris, Charlotte and team advised, designed, built and installed this bespoke media wall. Plus transforming the room its in. The sound system is built in and integrated into a redecorated room which was immaculately undertaken by them at the same time. The visionary touches ranged from complementing radiators to the door hinges. The work ethic displayed by every single team member has been exemplary. As has been the ongoing support service from initial meetings at the showroom to follow up after work has been completed. Josh and his team first did our first media wall 12 months ago and it transformed a rather looking plain wall into a beautiful media wall and it was very much the centrepiece of the home.
When we moved earlier this year we got Josh and his wonderful team to do two media rooms redesign our bedroom.
The care they show is first class along with the attention to detail .
There workman are first class alongside the preparation and planning of the work which is organised by Charlotte and the team in the office..
I think they are the best people in the industry and if you are looking to have media walls or any home upgrades look no further than this wonderful team and company

Great experience from beginning to end. Was recommended Home Cinema Interiors by friends in the village we live in. Richer Sound also recommended them completely independently. Lots of elements made it one of the best overall “big spend” experiences I’ve had in a very, very long time…

1. Great showroom where I felt really looked after, welcomed, and listened to
2. Amazing tech/AV knowledge (admittedly I’m a bit thick with this stuff, but Josh is a legend)
3. Charlotte and rest of staff always super helpful and very patient (we struggled with decisions!)
4. Quality of all work was excellent. Painter they used was incredible!
5. Overall finished outcome/install spot on, not a single aspect I could fault (and I’m picky)

Most importantly of all, however, was just the level of genuine care for a great outcome, which is usually hard to quantify… I’ve had my fair share of builders and trades people - ranging from average to great (as usually use recommendations), and Josh is absolutely next level. At one stage in the final setting up, he stayed until 20:30 at night (yes, you read that right), endlessly tweaking the final setting up, all so my son and I could get it working perfectly. He never once seemed fazed or grumbled and honestly, genuinely only seemed concerned with ensuring we were “100% happy with everything and feeling totally comfortable with how to use it”… next level above and beyond service.

Not cheap, and I could’ve got a local chippy to do a similar job for 80% of the price (so they alleged), but couldn’t be happier with the overall outcome and if I had to do it all over again wouldn’t hesitate for a second about using Josh and team. If something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well, and with a home cinema system you might as well get the best job you can afford… So if you can afford Josh and team you’d be nuts not to use them. Legends!

Where to start, I found Home Cinema Interiors on Instagram and booked an appointment with Josh. Josh attended my home and explained the different designs etc. The process was simple and Josh arranged absolutely everything from start to finish. Josh and his team, were amazing, tidy, on time and polite throughout the build. I would also like to thank Charlotte from Home Cinemas who helped with choosing the colours of the walls and wood panelling throughout. Josh and his team have transformed our
living room! We had an old stone fireplace with a gas fire which was very dated. Within eight days he had removed all the old fire place and surround and replaced with a modern media unit with new TV and sound bar, electric fire and a superb lighting system. All was done with the minimum of fuss by this very efficient team.
